Collecting Vintage Albums

There is a niche market within the collectors who buy and look for vintage vinyl albums. Some of these collectors have a certain thing for collecting vintage vinyl albums that were released during the holidays in the years when their artists were still quite popular and were frequent radio hits. Vintage Christmas albums are collected by a good amount of vinyl album collectors due mainly to a couple of reasons.

One of the main reasons why many collectors look for vintage Christmas albums is because of the distinct songs that were only recorded during the Christmas time. Some of the more famous singers and bands during their time would only record Christmas songs once in their entire careers, and so such songs would be hard to come by. Christmas albums were also run in limited numbers, as stocks would have to be sold out by the time the season ends. This means that it adds to the rarity and value of the album.

There are also vinyl album collectors that look for vintage Christmas albums because of the cover art. Some of the best popular arts were around during the 40's and 50's and then again during the 70's and 80's, especially with Andy Warhol.
